Moins de 100 km s\u00e9parent les deux sites.<br>Dans la nuit du 12 au 13 septembre 1944, le B-24 serial 42-78243, surnomm\u00e9; Dallas Lady, s&#8217;\u00e9crasa contre la paroi abrupte de la Corne de Bouc, montagne situ\u00e9e sur la commune de Fontan, dans la vall\u00e9e de La Roya (d\u00e9partement des Alpes-Maritimes) . Sa mission \u00e9tait de l\u00e0cher des containers et des packs \u00e0 la r\u00e9sistance du secteur d&#8217;Allessandria (N\/E du Piemont, Italie du Nord).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ici aussi, aucun des 11 membres de l&#8217;\u00e9quipage ne surv\u00e9cut. Leurs d\u00e9pouilles mortelles furent r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9es par les soldats allemands qui les emmen\u00e8rent au cimeti\u00e9re civil de Fontan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s la guerre, les corps \u00e9taient exhum\u00e9s et dirig\u00e9s, par les services d&#8217;identification am\u00e9ricains, au cimeti\u00e8re temporaire militaire de Luynes, Bouches du Rh\u00f4ne, France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9sormais, les hommes d&#8217;\u00e9quipage du B-24 Dallas Lady reposent au cimeti\u00e8re Zachary Taylor de Louisville, dans le Kentucky, aux USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9pave du B-24 Dallas Lady, jusqu&#8217;en 1991 (ann\u00e9e de sa r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration) \u00e9tait unique en son genre de part la quantit\u00e9 et la qualit\u00e9 des vestiges existants et largement diss\u00e9min\u00e9s dans un imposant \u00e9boulis au d\u00e9nivell\u00e9 impressionant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&#8217;est suite aux recherches men\u00e9es en collaboration avec A\u00e9ro-Re.L.I.C., que J. K. Mattison (USA), A. Ramoin, A. Fine, R. Cohen, S. Poliakovic puis, par la suite, A.
