s&#8217;\u00e9crasait, sur les hauteurs de la commune de Tende (haute vall\u00e9e de La Roya, Alpes-Maritimes), lors d&#8217;une mission d&#8217;attaque d&#8217;un P.C. allemand mobile, un chasseur P-47 Thunderbolt appartenant au groupe de chasse fran\u00e7ais I\/4 Navarre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cet avion \u00e9tait pilot\u00e9 par le capitaine Jean-Marie Auber, qui trouva la mort aux commandes de son avion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le capitaine Auber repose d\u00e9sormais au cimeti\u00e8re militaire national de Luynes, dans les Bouches du Rh\u00f4ne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 7 juillet 1992, suite aux travaux de recherches effectu\u00e9s sur le site par l&#8217;association d\u00e9s 1989, et en collaboration avec la Base A\u00e9rienne de Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, \u00e9tait scell\u00e9e, non loin du site de l&#8217;\u00e9crasement, une plaque \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire de ce valeureux pilote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La pr\u00e9sence lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie des autorit\u00e9s civiles et militaires, et principalement celle du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d&#8217;arm\u00e9e a\u00e9rienne en retraite Philippe Maurin, fut fort \u00e9mouvante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En effet, monsieur Maurin, en 1944, \u00e9tait alors
